Heathrow airport will begin trial testing of luggage-tracking using RFID tags. In the next 6 months they will tag over 50,000 bags per month for travellers using Emirates Airline between Heathrow and Dubai. The clear advantage of course is that RFID tags are not succeptible to the poor scanning quality of barcode and the issues with wrinkles and weather.
